We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery,
guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate.
The world is all gates, all opportunities.

Opportunities are every where. We just have to open our eyes to see them.

Very nice. I have another Emerson quote on my desk that says:
The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going.

Excellent quote. What’s fun is that even if we all have our own courses – it’s great to look at other people’s maps and learn from the courses they took as well.

@ Shank – it is great to look at other people’s maps and learn from their courses. Honestly, it’s how I’ve managed to sidestep many many mistakes.

I haven’t read any Emerson since undergrad- you inspired me to dust off some of my old text books, thanks- easy to forget how powerful the right combination of words can be.

@ Shane – I was an English major in undergrad. Still have most of my old texts too. Doing the Friday posts @ both of my blogs has really inspired me to go back through them. Been contemplating re-reading Milton’s Paradise Lost but haven’t worked up the nerve to crack open the book quite yet.

I love this! My favorite Emerson quote is: “What you are shouts so loudly that I cannot hear what you are saying.” Have a great F.F.!
